To mark the brand’s arrival in Miami, citizenM partnered with Miami born-and-raised artist Jen Stark to create five bright and vibrant large scale pieces of artwork that unite to create one composition for the Brickell property facade. Located in the heart of the city’s bustling downtown at 11 SE 10th Street, the 252-room hotel bridges citizenM’s playful personality with Brickell’s cosmopolitan atmosphere. Inside, eight societyM meeting rooms offer style, tech, and unlimited coffee. The hotel will also feature the brand’s first rooftop pool, offering views of Miami’s downtown for in-house guests.

“We’re thrilled to be opening the first of two citizenM hotels planned in Miami this year,” says Robin Chadha, Chief Marketing Officer in a statement. “With Jen Stark’s striking facade artwork and the interior curated with a selection of works from artists celebrating Miami’s diverse and vivacious spirit, we are excited to be able to provide guests with an unparalleled and culturally robust experience, making this property a landmark in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood.”

As with all of its hotels, citizenM continues to bring art to the community through both commissioned and existing works. Commissioned artists Theresa Chromati and Lakwena Maciver created pieces for the citizenM Miami Brickell location.

Additionally, to give the property an art collection that felt distinct to Miami, citizenM hosted an “Open Art Call” where over 70 artists submitted works inspired by their love of the city. The panel of judges selected ten winners to permanently showcase their pieces across the guest rooms of the new citizenM Miami Brickell and citizenM Miami World Center (opening late 2022).

citizenM Miami Brickell’s entrance leads into a non-traditional lobby styled living room furnished with books, art and furniture from citizenM’s long-standing partner, Vitra. In the heart of the living room is a canteenM, serving food and drinks 24/7. The property also has two terraces: one overlooking the bustling S. Miami Avenue and the other facing a green garden space. The citizenM guest rooms are uniform in style and size – optimized for relaxation with a wall-to-wall window, an XL king-size bed topped with European linens, a jetlag-bursting power shower, and an HD TV with streaming capabilities. Superfast free Wi-Fi is unlimited. A MoodPad tablet controls the ambience – from temperature to blinds to entertainment. All of these features can also be controlled by a guest’s smartphone.

Building upon the brand’s commitment to the United States, this opening will complement the existing citizenM US portfolio in Boston, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC, bringing the total offering to 9 hotels across the country and 27 worldwide. citizenM’s second property in the city -citizenM Miami World Center – is due to open later this year.
