Early next year, Victoria Park will be home to Fort Lauderdale’s first Grain & Berry. The healthy acai bowl chain has 21 locations open or on the way in Florida and Tennessee, and one of those on-the-way locations is set to open, in February or March 2023, at 701 N Federal Highway.

“The health concept market is doing very well in South Florida,” co-franchisee Jeremy Dover told What Now in a phone call on Tuesday. “We know that what does well here are good customer service and Instagrammable moments.”

Attention to those qualities is evident in the design of the location, which, at around 2,000 square feet, is roomier than one usually gets in an acai bowl concept.

“Most acai bowl places, you walk in and walk out,” Dover said. “But we have a full seating area, where people can relax and do whatever they need to do.”

Grain & Berry’s menu features Superfood Bowls like the eponymous Grain & Berry, with organic granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, Nutella, peanut butter, and coconut shavings. Guests can also Design a Bowl, with bowl bases like acai, spirulina, and pitaya; granola; up to three fruits; and up to three toppings (think Nutella, peanut butter, chia seeds, and more). A selection of flatbreads and quesadillas will also satisfy hungrier guests.

“We’ll be offering coffee as well,” Dover added. “We’re a larger location than most.”

If you feel like you may have seen Dover’s name before, it’s because you probably have. He’s one half of Demesmin & Dover Law Firm, a South Florida law firm known for widespread sponsorships and charitable giving. Demesmin and Dover has partnered with nonprofits like the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity, and others.

The Fort Lauderdale Grain & Berry is also a collaboration between Jeremy Dover and Victor Demesmin Jr., and it will follow suit in its community focus.

“We’re looking forward to opening,” Dover said. “We’ll be doing a lot of big events and providing benefits back to the community.”
