Boca Raton’s Kanpai, a restaurant offering sushi and Japanese barbecue on the northeastern corner of the intersection between North Federal Highway and East Palmetto Park Road, is planning to reopen after a refresh. Currently closed, Kanpai will venture back with a soft opening this December before making its full return with a grand opening in February.

What Now confirmed the news with a representative of the restaurant on Friday. The representative said Kanpai’s reopening will feature a refreshed menu, keeping up as trends change.

“The concept is a little different,” they said. “But it’s still focused on a high-energy Japanese dining experience.”

Regulars familiar with the menu, which has featured a variety of sushi, cut rolls, and hand rolls, plus small plates and barbecue, needn’t be alarmed: sushi and barbecue are still on the table. They will be served in a comfortable but high-energy lounge atmosphere.

If you’ve been waiting on Kanpai’s return, hang in there just a little longer: it’s coming back this winter.
