Aspiring to bring a new creatively social destination for Kendall community members to gather, create and socialize, Painting with a Twist, the nation’s original and largest paint-and-sip studio, is now open at 12582 SW 88th St.
In celebration of the new studio location, Painting with a Twist hosted a grand opening event on June 30th.
Painting with a Twist Kendall aims to inspire guests to come together to experience a unique ‘getaway’ that includes friends, paint and the option to BYOB. An experience at Painting with a Twist is led by local artists, who guide customers through the step-by-step process that transforms bare canvases (and other surfaces like wood) into fun art, all while sipping on their favorite beverages. They encourage people of all skill sets to join, and even offer unique events such as “Paint Your Pet,” where guests can paint their beloved pets for a one-of-a-kind keepsake. On Sunday, July 10 they are hosting their first “Paint Your Pet” event. You can sign up on their website and/or follow them on Facebook to stay up to date on upcoming events.
The Kendall studio is owned and operated by local couple Pedro Lopez and Jaydelyn Ortiz. This will be the pair’s second Painting with a Twist studio. Pedro and Jaydelyn were introduced to the brand when they went on a date to one of the studios, and fell in love with the concept. With an extensive background in the hospitality industry, Pedro knew that this was something he wanted to bring to his community.
“Painting with a Twist is a welcoming space where anyone can come and enjoy themselves, and at the end of it they’re not just bringing home a painting, but also, a memory,” said Pedro in a statement. “With the COVID 19 pandemic, people were eager for some normalcy and social interaction. Nothing is more rewarding than being a place that brings people together in a unique way and getting to be a part of these moments.”
In addition to supporting the local community through its philanthropic arm, Painting with a Purpose, Painting with a Twist of Kendall also offers private parties for corporate outings, bachelorette and birthday parties, sorority functions, date nights, family events and more. The studio makes the perfect getaway for any celebration, big or small.
