Still early in the planning stages, we will not see the new location open for several more months. Shidlofsky reports that they are hoping to open Q4, and they are preparing to start drafting up construction plans for their building.

The bakery had its origins when Mitch Shidlofsky moved to Florida from New Jersey in 1993 and tried to find a way to support his family and still spend plenty of quality time with them. His answer was to open a deli and bakery. Shidlosky began learning the business in 1993, and come 2002, with a sense of his own style, he established Mitch’s Downtown.

Mitch’s son, Adam Shidlofsky has joined the team, and according to the website, is “adding a fresh, millennial, and new touch to the business [that] will take it to new heights.” For more information, visit their website.
