Sushi By Bou is one of simplevenue’s most well-known flagship brands, reimagining the omakase experience across 20+ nationwide locations. The transformative hospitality group, founded by Michael Sinensky and Erika London, brings distinctive micro-restaurant concepts to underused spaces found within existing venues. Its latest hot spot is an intimate 650-square-foot space in the heart of Wynwood’s cultural arts district. Upon entering the dark, newly renovated speakeasy setting, guests will discover an ode to ’90s hip-hop with abstract graffiti and portraits of musical OGs like The Notorious B.I.G., while dim lighting, luxurious velvet, black screen dividers and crimson curtains further enhance the atmosphere’s exclusive aura. The 14-seat omakase counter, eight-seat bar and cozy 14-seat lounge area are the ideal spots to enjoy craft cocktails and Sushi By Bou’s signature timed omakase experience.

“We’re thrilled to bring Sushi By Bou to Higher Ground at Arlo Wynwood,” said Erika London, co-founder at simplevenue in a statement. “This exciting partnership creates a stylish and refreshing spin on the traditional sushi counter experience within an ideal space that celebrates Wynwood’s art and cuisine. Our proven success with various Sushi By Bou locations across the country sets the stage for this new neighborhood gem to craft a memorable omakase affair. We are ecstatic to be back in Miami and can’t wait for guests and locals alike to visit.”

During this immersive culinary experience, guests sit back and let the talented Sushi By Bou chefs decide their menu. Diners can choose from two signature options: a 12-course, $65 experience or a 17-course, $125 experience. The elegant cuisine is complemented by a selection of handmade cocktails, imported sake and rare Japanese whiskeys.

The omakase menu features the freshest, highest-quality fish sourced locally and globally while adding a unique Sushi By Bou spin with carefully selected ingredients that enhance the flavor and texture of each bite. Delicacies include Botan Ebi (spotted prawn), Hamachi (yellowtail), Hotate (scallop), Ikura (salmon roe), O-Toro (fatty tuna), Unagi (barbecue eel) and Sushi By Bou’s signature Wagyuni (surf and turf). Guests can add to their experience with a selection of hand rolls and à la carte specialties like the Big Mac, a quadruple stack of toro, scallop, wagyu and uni, or the Uni Shooter, which combines seasonal uni with sake, house ponzu and chives. For a sweet treat at the end of the meal, Sushi By Bou’s Mochi Bliss Bites provide a taste of premium ice cream encompassed by a soft, chewy layer of mochi dough. The elevated drink menu serves imported sakes, Japanese beers and brilliantly mixed cocktails such as the Shiso Southsider, made with suntory haku vodka, shiso leaves and lime juice, and Yuzu Honey Bee with Maker’s Mark bourbon, honey syrup, yuzu, simple syrup and pink peppercorn.

Sushi By Bou at Arlo Wynwood is located at 2217 NW Miami Court. It will be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 5 p.m., with the last seating at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and at 11:15 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Reservations can be made via OpenTable. Walk-ins are welcome.
