Toku Modern Asian is set to debut at Aventura Mall this year, according to a press release from the shopping center. The new restaurant is planned for the upper level, next to Voyage Luggage and Bella Luna, according to Aventura Mall’s website

Owned by New York-based Poll Restaurants, Toku Modern Asian’s menu centers on the Asian diaspora, focusing primarily on Japanese- and Chinese-inspired cuisine with touches of Thai influence. The dishes are meant to be shared and enjoyed with Toku’s signature, handcrafted cocktails.

Stepping into Toku Modern Asian will evoke the elegant experience of setting foot into a traditional 19th century Japanese home with ultramodern accents. The restaurant is scheduled to open doors in the fall

In addition to Toku, Poll Restaurants has a diverse portfolio that includes Cipollini, an authentic trattoria and bar; an “eclectic steakhouse” called Hendrick’s Tavern; Bar Frites, an urban-style bistro; plus Bryant & Cooper and Majors, which are both steakhouses. All of these restaurants are located in New York, which suggests that Toku’s Aventura appearance will be the group’s first outside of their home state.
