“It’s going to be hamburgers, steaks—an American-style menu,” co-owner Ted Sabarese told What Now on Thursday. “We’re part of the Drunken Taco chain that’s been in Fort Lauderdale Beach for 30 years, and in Gulfport for about 2 years.”

“[The Drunken Taco] is a chameleon of sorts as it caters to families, professional sports stars, A-List celebrities, chess Grand Masters, up-and-coming rappers, Amazon private label sellers, Navy seals, nuclear physicists and yet draws tequila lovers from every corner of the planet with its 301 tequila brands,” says the Drunk Taco website. “Strangely, it’s also is a favorite of spring breakers. Go figure.”

It looks like the shapeshifting will continue! Black Jack’s will be open until 2 a.m. every day, launching on Davie Road between Southwest 38th and 39th Courts, near Tealicious.

Black Jack’s Rum Bar & Grille has no set opening date yet, but Sabarese says it’s working toward a launch in February or March.

I live in Davie and have seen that particular restaurant/bar open and close, open and close. The people who own the property must be charging outrageous rent because no business seems to make it.

Oh, and Davie really needs another burger joint, too!!!

Good luck, Taco owners.
