Several years after an unfortunate fire, the Hollywood outpost of South Florida-based chain Flanigan’s Seafood Bar & Grill is moving towards an eventual reopening. The attached Big Daddy’s Wine & Liquors has reopened, but Flanigan’s fans have a bit more waiting to do before they can dine at Hollywood’s beloved Flanigan’s location.
“Flanigan’s Hollywood was expected to undergo a renovation. When the fire occurred that closed the location’s doors in October of 2018, we decided to scrap all existing plans and make Flanigan’s Hollywood bigger and better than ever,” a representative of the company told What Now on Wednesday. “We have been blown away by the love and support of the Hollywood community who have been patiently waiting for our return.”
Flanigan’s menu opens with a selection of starters like the brand’s Award Winning Chicken Wings, Garlic Rolls, and Steamers. Ten Ounce Burgers and Waytoobig Sandwiches—served with choice of curly French fries, baked potato, or dirty rice—include the Texas Burger (Crispy bacon, crumbled bleu cheese, a stack of Tumbleweed Onions, all drizzled with our homemade wing sauce), the Blackened Tilapia Sandwich, and the Chipotle Salmon Sandwich.
Entrees include seafood dishes like Lemon Pepper Tilapia, Surf and Turf, and Grilled Salmon; pasta dishes like Shrimp Scampi and Giuseppe’s Pasta (Fresh basil, diced tomatoes, onions, and whole roasted garlic sautéed in olive oil, pan tossed with Angel Hair pasta and shredded Parmesan, served with three fresh-baked garlic rolls); and Beef & Chicken entrees like Prime Rib and a Barbecued Half Chicken.
What does Flanigan’s future in South Florida look like?
“Flanigan’s is very much a South Florida icon, and we plan to keep it that way,” said the representative. “Our Miramar location will be opening in April 2023. We hope to have the Hollywood location returning in 2024. We believe there’s plenty of room in South Florida for more locations. Our eyes are set on the growing community of Homestead.”
Construction has already begun on Flanigan’s Hollywood, which is situated on the northeast corner of North University Drive and Sheridan Street, just north of Memorial Hospital Pembroke.
