“Italian-inspired” Miami Beach restaurant Call Me Gaby is preparing to launch a sister restaurant at Aventura Mall. The second location will be called Gaby by Call Me Gaby, according to recent coverage by the South Florida Business Journal.
“Originally from South of France, owner Cathy (Coco was her nickname growing up), had a vision of a relaxing place for the neighborhood, where locals and visitors could enjoy good food at reasonable prices, with a sophisticated wine selection – and stylish surroundings. Welcome, Call Me Gaby,” says the Call Me Gaby website’s About page. “Owned and operated by women, Call Me Gaby exudes femininity. But, there is an all-star team of masculine Italian chefs in the kitchen handcrafting pizzas each titled after a woman’s name. Is it a coincidence that Coco Chanel’s real name was Gaby? Elegance, enchantment, and classic style? We think not.”
Gaby by Call Me Gaby will feature seating for 130 guest in its 3,000-square-foot space, the Business Journal coverage says. It is not yet known how the new restaurant’s menu might differ from that of the original location in Miami Beach, but if that menu is any indication, expect antipasti like Carpaccio di Bresaola, pastas like Bucatini Cacio E Pepe, and pizza varieties like the Gabriella (Pizza dough topped with sliced smoked salmon, chunk avocado, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice and dill).
“We are excited and honored to open Gaby by Call me Gaby at Aventura Mall,” co-founder Anthony Arrighi-Guitera says in the Business Journal coverage. “We are looking forward to serving our patrons and be part of a memorable experience.”
What Now reached out to Arrighi-Guitera on Friday to inquire about plans for the new Aventura Mall restaurant. Arrighi-Guitera declined to make any immediate comment on the news.
