Mia Steakhouse & Lounge is planned for a 12,000-square-foot space at 50 NW 24th Street, promising “high-quality fare and top-notch table service.”

The restaurant will aim to blend “Mediterranean and Japanese cuisines crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients,” served with wine and craft cocktails. They plan to feature DJs and live music, with a rooftop lounge.

The concept comes from Chef Akira Back and Goat Hospitality Group, a company whose portfolio includes Pilo’s Street Tacos, Pilo’s Tequila Garden, Pilo’s Beach Club, Frozaritas and Nathan’s Beach Club.

Back was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Aspen, Colorado. He was a professional snowboarder when he discovered his culinary passions while working at a local Japanese restaurant, making the switch from the slopes to the kitchen. He is the chef behind numerous popular concepts across the globe, including the namesake Akira Back, AB Steak and Dosa.

Mia Steakhouse & Lounge is expected to open in December 2024. Follow @miasteakhousemiami on Instagram for updates.
