Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi is bringing his restaurant, Fiolina Pasta House, to PEBB Enterprises’ Restaurant Row complex at 1400 NW N. River Drive at River Landing. It is estimated that the restaurant won’t open until the second quarter of 2023 per Commercial Observer.

The Fiolina Pasta House’s concept is inspired by Trabocchi’s own Sfoglina Pasta House restaurants. The lease was signed for one of Restaurant Row’s biggest spaces at 7,000 square feet.

Trabocchi’s background is described on his website which says, “Trabocchi grew up in Le Marche, a remote part of Italy that lies on the Adriatic Coast, over the Apennine Mountains from Rome. Trabocchi’s love for food was inspired by his father, a passionate farmer, and gardener who grew most of the food his family ate.”

While Fiolina’s concept will be based on the already existent Sfoglina Pasta Houses, not much is yet known about the new restaurant’s menu. Trabocchi’s restaurants are his flagship restaurant Fiola, Del Mar, and Sfoglina Pasta House. Sfoglina’s concept is a restaurant dedicated to the art of handmade pasta. It’s not hard to imagine that Fiolina will be similar in concept especially since both of the restaurant’s names are so similar.

Chef Trabocchi’s education was at Istituto Alberghiero Panzine in Senigallia, Italy and he was an apprentice to 3-star Michelin Chef Gualtiero Marchesi, a founder of modern Italian cuisine. After working in the industry in various establishments, Trabocchi was awarded the title of Best Chef by The James Beard Foundation and was recognized as one of America’s Best New Chefs by Food And Wine Magazine.

It remains to be seen exactly what surprises Fiolina Pasta House has in store for Miami, but there’s no doubt that these surprises will be delicious.
