After opening in early 2022 on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, pizzeria Pizza Cucinova closed that location’s doors toward the end of last year. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported back in January that Pizza Cucinova would reopen in Wellington’s Mall at Wellington Green. Plan review paperwork since found by What Now bears this out, describing a Pizza Cucinova location at the mall’s address, 10300 Forest Hill Blvd.

The Fort Lauderdale location’s menu, which can still be found at InsideFortLauderdale.com, included 11-inch hand-stretched Neapolitan pizzas in varieties like Quattro Carne (classic red sauce, shredded mozzarella, meatballs, pepperoni, crumbled sausage, soppressata) and Chicken & Artichoke (creamy parmesan, shredded mozzarella, Tuscan chicken, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, spinach). It also featured a selection of homemade pastas and salads.

Behind the restaurant is the Fort Lauderdale-based Vivaria Group. What Now reached out on Tuesday to Vivaria Group president Javier Gavilan. Gavilan declined to comment immediately on the project.

At the Mall at Wellington Green, Pizza Cucinova will be part of a food and drink community that includes restaurants like Maoz Vegetarian, California Pizza Kitchen, Chick-fil-A, and The Madre’s Mexican Fresh. No opening date has been announced yet.
