Founded in 2018, Shahs of Kabob has been an immediate success in South Florida, growing to five locations in the past six years. The chain launched a new ghost kitchen location in Kendall to bring the area its popular menu of halal food offerings, and it’s headed to Fort Lauderdale next.

A recently submitted plan review shows the new Shahs of Kabob opening at 2703 E. Commercial Boulevard.

“We started pretty much on the street,” owner Amir Ebrahimi told What Now on Wednesday. “I work with my family, and with our head chef, who is also from Iran, and we’ve been expanding from there.”

The Shahs of Kabob menu features large plates like Koobideh (2 skewers of mixed beef + lamb), Joojeh (1 skewer of marinated chicken), and Barg (1 skewer of filet mignon). There are also selections of wraps featuring Koobideh, Joojeh, and Falafel, along with stews like Ghormeh Sabzi (Slowly cooked meat in rich and fresh herb gravy along with kidney beans).

After opening in Fort Lauderdale, Ebrahimi said, the brand is planning to continue its South Florida expansion—with maybe just a short break first.
