Sweetgreen opened its eighth Florida based restaurant on June 20th in River Market at 2374 N Federal Hwy.
For every meal sold on opening day, Sweetgreen donated a meal to Health in the Hood to nourish people experiencing food insecurity in Miami-Fort Lauderdale. Health in the Hood connects communities to wellness by providing access to fresh foods and health education in low-income neighborhoods, putting families on the path to healthy futures.
On opening day, the first 75 customers received bracelets from Little Words Project and the first 150 customers received coffee from the BigFaceBrand coffee cart. Guests had a chance to meet local artist Emma Ortiz who commissioned a piece for the new location encapsulating the seasonal feel of Florida.
The 2,602 sq ft location will accommodate 37 diners inside with banquette, bar and community seating and 30 diners outside on the restaurant’s patio fit with bench and lounge chair seating. Store hours are 10:30am to 9:00pm daily.
