Always committed to highlighting and supporting the neighborhoods and communities that house The Salty shops, the brand curated a series of collaborations with Coconut Grove hotspots throughout the opening weekend. Each day featured a one-day-only item with partners including LoKal, Fireman Derek’s and Salt & Straw. The collaboration items will be available at the Coconut Grove location only.

On Saturday, March 23 guests had the opportunity to try the Lokal Frita Kolache, a delight encapsulating the essence of Coconut Grove’s culinary scene with its intricate layers of flavors. The specialty item is made with baked 24 hr brioche filled with Lokal’s frita patty, frita sauce & cheese topped with potato stix. On Sunday, March 24, The Salty teamed up with the beloved Fireman Derek’s to create the Fireman Derek’s Pie Stuffed Donut – Fireman Derek’s famous salted caramel pie wrapped in The Salty’s 24 hr mini brioche with brown butter glaze & topped with a hand scooped quenelle of mascarpone whipped cream. Monday, March 25 the Salt & Straw collab will feature two indulgent donut ice cream sandwiches including: Cookie Dough – 24 hr mini brioche donut with vanilla bean glaze cut in half & filled with a scoop of Salt & Straw’s Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream; and Cherry Pie – 24 hr mini brioche donut with vanilla bean glaze cut in half & filled with a scoop of Salt & Straw’s Vault Flavor, Sour Cherry Pie Ice Cream. The ice cream sandwiches will be available beginning at 12pm Monday & every weekday after until all supplies are sold out. Through these collaborations, The Salty hopes to offer guests innovative and creative delights while fostering meaningful connections and memorable moments with their new neighbors.

Since its pop-up opening in Wynwood in December 2015, The Salty has brought wrap-around-the-block lines, creating a cult-like following for the creatively decadent treats – one that to date has not died down. Today, the brand has fourteen brick and mortar locations throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.

“Opening our third shop in Miami, right here in Coconut Grove, feels like hitting a sweet spot in our journey. We’re thrilled to keep growing in our hometown and beyond,” says Andy Rodriguez, CEO and Co-Founder of The Salty in a statement. “But more than just expanding, it’s about embracing each new neighborhood like an old friend. We’re all about working with neighboring businesses and being a part of the community. Coconut Grove’s got a special vibe, and we’re stoked to be jumping right in and working with some of the best spots to open our shop and offer fans some wildly delicious creations.”

Located at 3034 Grand Avenue, Suite 7, the new 1,800 square-foot store will be open daily from 7AM until 10PM. The menu will feature year-round fan favorites including the Traditional Glazed, Brown Butter + Salt and Maple + Bacon, as well as two donuts exclusive to the Coconut Grove location: Chocolate Sheet Cake – chocolate sheet cake donut with chocolate glaze; and Strawberry Tres Leches – 24hr brioche piped with fresh strawberry jam, soaked in 3-milks, bottom encrusted with Valrhona white chocolate, & finished with torched cinnamon infused meringue. Baked goods, seasonal offerings and a full craft coffee menu featuring signature Salty drinks + classic coffee offerings will also be available.
