Ice-cold smoothies are planned for South Florida, according to franchisee Lashonne McBayne. On Tuesday, What Now connected with McBayne to get more details about her forthcoming business.

According to a filing with the DBPR that McBayne confirmed, we can expect to see the new franchise location at 19401 NW 27th Ave. In a small strip development, the unit will neighbor Starbucks Coffee and World Famous Miami Gardens. 

McBayne chose to bring the franchise to the neighborhood because she lives nearby and wants to serve the community from the counter of a new business. However, she is in the early stages of permitting and planning, and we shouldn’t expect to find the doors open until October. This is McBayne’s first franchise with the brand. 

Tropical Smoothie Café opened in 1997 in Destin, Florida, and specialized in serving real fruit smoothies, Since their beginnings, the brand has grown exponentially. There are now over 1,000 locations open and more in development.
