What Now broke the news earlier this year that local Playa Bowls franchisee Roxanne Vogel would open two locations in the near future. At the time, paperwork had been submitted for a Playa Bowls location at 6620 SW 57th Ave, with an opening originally anticipated for late summer but now expected in September. The second location, planned for Midtown, remained a mystery for the moment.

Paperwork submitted last week, however, shows plans for the anticipated Midtown location in Suite 200 at 3111 NE 1st Ave.

Playa’s healthy bowls are made with bases like açai, pitaya, coconut, chia pudding, and more. They come in varieties like Pura Vida (Pure acai topped with granola, blueberry, strawberry, honey), Hemp (Kale blend topped with granola, banana, blueberry, hemp seeds, agave), and Pink Power (Pitaya blend with vanilla protein topped with granola, banana, honey). The menu also features beverages like Smoothies and Juices, plus a selection of coffee drinks—although the coffee menu is still in the rollout process and may not immediately be available at the Midtown Playa Bowls.

The NE 1st St location is situated near a Trader Joe’s, which sits on the southeast corner of NE 1st and NW 32nd St. Across NE 1st is The Shops at Midtown Miami, a small shopping center home to retail locations like Mattress Firm and PetSmart.

No projected opening date has been announced for the Midtown Playa Bowls location.
