Rose also told What Now Miami that the concept is based on the British Fish and Chips style and elaborated by saying, “Our Fish and Chips, the original fast food, stand out from the typical American Fish as we use a very light batter that is below 10% of the fish rather than an American batter which is 30% of the fish. Our chips have one-third of the fat compared with other fast-food fries.”

According to Hamish Rose, British Fish and Chips are one of the healthiest fast foods around, coming in at about 590 calories per serving; the health benefits of fish are well known, with essential fatty oils (like Omega-3), loads of vitamins, and other essential nutrients.  Even our chips which are cut from whole potatoes have plenty of fiber and other essential nutrients such as potassium.

Rose notes that British Fish and Chips are popular around the world.  In the UK alone, there are 8 fish and chip shops for every other type of fast-food restaurant.  Anywhere in the world, you will be able to find fish and chips in any major city. Even Gordon Ramsey has two fish and chip shops in the US.

Hamish Rose elaborated further and said, “All of our staff will be trained by the National Federation of Fish Friers in the UK to ensure authenticity. Roses Fish and Chips will also be tailored to local needs.  The Roses Fish and Chips in Miami will a focus on the “South Florida Style” menu which will include empanadas instead of “pies” and even our vegetarian option will be a deep-fried battered plantain also known as a Plantain Frito.”

Roses Fish and Chips intends to make its meals available through delivery services such as Uber Eats and Door Dash. Hamish Rose told What Now Miami that the food truck concept uses his last name and that the Rose Family in Scotland can trace their roots back to the 12th Century.

Went there at the Teopical food truck rally and paid $38 for 2 orders of fish and chips. There was only 1 tiny piece of fish, the “chips” were soggy and the 1 piece of fish that was on the plate was soggy. Total waste was f money and calories.
