Launched during the pandemic years by Will Thompson and Carey Hynes, owners of Downtown Miami Bar Jaguar Sun, Sunny’s Steakhouse became popular as an outdoor steakhouse spot during the days of lockdown, when sitting inside a restaurant was impossible. Last year, it was announced that the restaurant would close in order to construct an indoor space.

“Rain is a known problem for us. There’s nothing quite like having a sudden downpour in the middle of a Friday dinner service at 8 p.m.,” Will Thompson told the Miami New Times at the time, adding, “A big cabernet and a pork chop may not be something that you want to think about for dinner when it’s completely humid out.”

On Tuesday, What Now found paperwork submitted by 7357 Bar LLC, showing a reopening for Sunny’s Steakhouse at 7357 NW Miami Court.

What Now reached out to Thompson on Tuesday to inquire about plans for the reopening. Thompson said it’s still too early to comment as Sunny’s doesn’t yet have a set reopening date. But even if there’s not much info, this is still good news: Sunny’s Steakhouse is coming back once again!
