Major Food Group Opens Contessa Miami

Major Food Group, which currently operates five restaurants in Miami, including Carbone, Sadelle’s, and Dirty French Steakhouse, will open its next Miami concept, Contessa Miami, on Friday, October 28, according to recent coverage by Eater Miami. The New York-based restaurant group, founded by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, first debuted the Contessa concept in Boston, offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and cocktails in a retractable, glass-roofed, conservatory-like space.

Several of Contessa Miami’s menu items were teased in the Eater Miami coverage. These include antipasti like Chianina beef carpaccio; pastas like Spicy Lobster Capellini, Tortellini in Broth, and Fusilli Genovese; and entrees like Grilled Branzino and 40-oz. dry-aged Bistecca Florentina. For dessert: gelato and a variety of cakes.

Drinks include the Bellini, Vesper, and Negroni, plus a wine list that brings guests on a journey through central and northern Italy.

The location at 111 NE 41st St. is situated near Rosenfeld Gallery and Northeast First Avenue’s Tesla dealership. Its business hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
